encounters with General Patton

World War II veterans recall old "Blood & Guts"

This individual 50-minute CD contains a dozen stories involving General George S. Patton, who spent more time at the front than most other generals. The stories are drawn from the oral history interviews conducted by Aaron Elson with veterans of the 712th Tank Battalion and others.

Although the language on this CD is a bit rough, it pales in comparison to the language in use in the military today. Still, it may be inappropriate for children under the age of 19.

Here are three excerpts from this remarkable CD, which is a must for any fan of General Patton.

real audio  mp3  Major Clegg "Doc" Caffery tells of hearing Patton deliver a speech on a hillside in England.

real audio  mp3  Corporal Russell Loop shakes hands with the general.

real audio  mp3 Captain Forrest Dixon recalls how Patton helped get winter boots to the front.
